Adjust – helping student toward correct alignment
Assist – taking someone into a deeper expression

Continue your learning of how to be with a student on their journey by meeting them where they are at, offering hands on adjustments or verbal assistance guiding students in the ‘direction’ of the pose based on their expression of the pose.  Teachers/Students who have studied Adjusts/Assists with Maureen have stated that it should be mandatory for all teachers as well as students in a teacher training program to take the workshop or work with Maureen independently.  People who have done this with Maureen have stated that it significantly increased their confidence with providing adjusts/assists to students in their yoga classes.  If you are a Yoga Teacher, CEUs are available for this workshop (Yoga Alliance).

Yoga Adjustments book review (Mark Stephens)

I am now providing private Adjust/Assist sessions to graduates of 200-hour programs, including Yoga NH.  We’ll meet for an hour and review adjusts/assists that you want to provide to your students.  Offering adjust/assists to students requires continual review of the physical and energetic aspects of the A/A.  Perhaps it’s been some time since you offered them and/or you just graduated and want a refresher.  For Yoga NH students/graduates I’ll offer this one hour session at $50, for others – $65.
